What is Blow Your Sculpture?
BYS is a project inspired through the first ever Guerrilla Bienalle, Cool Capital. BYS aims to build a bridge between glass as an expressive medium and sculptors, fostering collaboration and exposing new ideas and approaches to the flexibility of the material.
This year BYS will exhibit at the Pretoria Botanical Gardens on the 15th and 16th of October from 14:00 – 20:00 in collaboration with Jazz Cantina an unplugged brass ensemble, delighting our ears with sundowner sets.
From the 17th till the 31st of October Blow Your Sculpture will be exhibited on the roof of the Pretoria Art Museum.
What are the aims of BYS?
As stated above the project fosters collaboration between artists. It also aims to stimulate dialogue around glass and the possibilities it offers.
For the group show during Cool Capital it is envisaged to introduce lighting to the entire project, individually illuminating each sculpture. The idea is to inspire architects, designers and other creatives to use this concept for future projects.

BYS is also a platform to promote, grow and maintain the hand made glass industry in Southern Africa.
