Back to the Future – Contemporary Glass Inspired by the Past

Pretoria is a proverbial melting-pot of glass art.

With this in mind several contemporary protagonists using glass in their oeuvre have been invited to exhibit new works which are inspired or reference the broad history of glass globally.

The suggested parameter is glass art, objects, tools and/or artefacts which predate 1900. This can be a stained glass window from a cathedral, a venetian goblet, Libyan desert glass ,a prehistoric spear tip and much much more.

This exhibition aims to further cement our small glass community’s vernacular as part of the global vitreous dialogue.
