Rocket Cat (2025)

Blown and optical glass, hand carved, cut and polished, all parts UV-bonded.

Rocket Cat is one of my recent explorations to sculpturally combine blown and solid elements. This Precious Beast has a sleek, refined quality — polished body and blown head.

Rocket Cat evolved from “lost” glass elements found while I was cleaning my studio, resulting in a whimsical assemblage with its own character. 

The almost twisted counteracting balance between the heavy optical crystal body and blown lanceolate form is particularly interesting and gives this sculpture a life-like dynamic. 

Rocket Cat and other works were recently exhibited at the Glass Art & Design Salon in Paris.
