Beast Like Rhino (2025)

Optical glass, hand carved, cut and polished.

One of my recent favourite Precious Beasts, Beast Like Rhino, is carved, cut and polished from a solid chunk of yellow-gold optical glass.

I love the way the pointy head shimmers and refracts light, giving this magical creature a life of its own. 

Creating my sculptures is often an adventure, carving the shape intuitively.  I title my works after completion, and this one has a proud pointy head, reminiscent of a rhino. 

Placing my sculptures in different surroundings allows one to experience their mystical resonance. They speak to their environment.
