Lathe Riders present: Grit & Wheels at the Glasmuseum Frauenau

The Lathe Riders — the international cold-glass collective I co-founded with Samuel Weisenborn — recently concluded Grit & Wheels 2026, our Cold Workers Convention, at Bild-Werk Frauenau (24-30 August). We partnered with the Glasmuseum Frauenau to show the broader public what we do in the exhibition Grit & Wheels which opened on 29 August. This exhibition brings together thirteen artists from across Europe and Africa: hand-carved optical crystal, wheel-cut vessels, cast and cold-worked sculpture, deep-cut blown forms, engraved and gilded surfaces — twenty works that show cold work is not a finishing step once the fire is out, but a discipline of its own.
My two pieces belong to the Anima enquiry: Flight (2026), the largest of my Precious Beasts, and Croco Bear (2024). I’m over the moon that Croco Bear found a collector in Germany on the opening evening — Flight is still available.
